These pursuits have deep roots reaching back nearly half a century — to the first live literary-slide-music programs in the USSR. Daniel became a pioneer in using light as an independent artistic medium: he created the first stationary theatre of interferential light and sound, the first laser backdrop for television, and carried out history's first laser projection onto clouds. The apogee came with Ukraine's first permanently operating immersive theatre, housed in the Kyiv Planetarium.

The Lux Aeterna Light Interference Theatre he founded (see also 360-theatre.org; trailer "Laser Cosmic Utopia") and the Vgoray project have become subjects of academic research, and the artistic content of his programs is used as a therapeutic tool.
